There is a truth as ancient as human beings. That truth is that knowing the truth sets us free. When we understand what is actually happening in our lives, we can make decisions that move our life forward. On the other hand, deception creates chaos and confusion and mires us in a bog of indecision.
When we are stuck, we are unhappy. A life without progress is a life without meaning. We’ll return to this theme throughout this series. But ask yourself, is there something in my life that I’m not confident I know the truth about? Is that lack of transparency making it hard to progress in my life?
If so, you have two options. First, have the courage to ask the right questions of the right people. If you get resolution, great! Take the next step. But if you don’t, then move to option two.
Option two is more dramatic, but maybe necessary. If you can’t get resolution, then eliminate the cause of the deception! Quit a job with a deceptive boss. End a friendship with a deceptive friend. Enforce limitations with deceptive family members.
Then do the opposite. Find work with an honest boss and build relationships with loyal and open friends and family.
Finally, remember, you get back what you give. Be the person you want to find in your life.
